Best Birds bundle - It's a good day!

Hello and welcome back! Today's card features the beautiful Best Birds and the coordinating Birds and Blooms thinlits, and is also available as a bundle.

I have drawn inspiration from two card challenges this week and they are:

Both challenges were so beneficial in creating this card.

Please check out the creative projects for more inspirations from both card blog challenges and hopefully you''ll join in the fun! :)

This was my take to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) Steffi's gorgeous butterfly card above incorporating the colour challenge.

It's a very clean and simple card with lots of white space and has a softness with muted colours lending itself to Steffi's card. The gold heat embossing was used in place of the gold foil paper.

The Paper Players colour challenge truly complimented the imagery on this card.

• Island Indigo for the background (hint of sky)
• Mint Macaron - Leaves
• Sweet Sugarplum - Flowers

I went with an oriental look to the card as the flowers reminded me of cherry blossoms.

The gold heat embossing really added to the oriental style and helped to apply the colours easily with the ink resist technique.  I applied the ink colours with an aqua painter and gave a loose watercolour effect. As a result, it gives a softness and translucency in the colour.

The sparrow was left gold heat embossed to give it that earthy and natural quality reflecting Steffi's card.

The background has been created by first white heat embossing the textured image and applied ink blending using a blending tool applicator. I have used a very small amount of ink by dabbing it off first on some scrap paper before applying it to the card so it's not as intense. I concentrated on the centre and faded out using a very light touch.  This gives a hint of atmosphere and allows you to see the textured impression in the background.

The sentiment has been white heat embossed on Crumb cake to match the cardtock. I have also used the Lots of Labels framelits to die cut the shape and cropped it at the top to give an interesting banner shape. I have added a small rhinestone for some bling. :)

The ink splatters at the bottom is from Gorgeous Grunge and just love this set as you get this controlled splatter effect and is in the style of Steffi's card.

I have also dressed up the inside of the card using  the same elements of  the branch and blooms.
I went with the 'Thoughts for you', sentiment and white heat embossed that and applied an ink blending to match the front.

I hope you have enjoyed this new card creation. Steffi's style is very inspirational. The Best Birds bundle is a gorgeous set with many other greetings that can be used for many occasions and the great thing is it comes complete with the matching dies so makes it easier to use and a lot of fun!

Thank you so much for stopping by and hope to see you next time. Cheers!
