Basket of Wishes - Thinking of You

Hello and Happy Friday! I thought I would share this cute card featuring the new Basket of Wishes set from the new holiday catalogue. It's great set, where you can build up the images with coordinating sentiments and being photopolymer makes it easy to line up.

Here is how the set looks:

For my card I have chosen the basket and added the bouquet of sunflowers and have used the Thinking of You sentiment. To make it unique, I have added a window panel on the front to show the inside. In doing this it helped to complete the front and the inside of the card at the same time whilst giving it that interest.

The inside of the card, I have masked off a section to match the window panel and white heat embossed the image on watercolour paper and watercoloured it in. I have used an aqua painter and a brush to apply and build up the colours.

Colours used are Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzazz. Pear Pizzazz was used very lightly around the top and bottom corners and is very subtle.

The basket is coloured in Crumb Cake and Sunflowers in Daffodil Delight. The leaves and berries are in Garden Green and Tangerine Tango.

The sentiment was then added in later and has been white heat embossed. I just love the white embossed resist with watercolours.

On the window sheet I have stamped the sunflower bouquet as a decorative touch.

I have tied a bow using Crushed Curry Baker's Twine and hanged a small tag from Cutie Pie thinlits with the watercolour sunflower. This helps tie in the front to the inside.

I hope you have enjoyed my card and found inspiration. This set is available to order on my online store and would make wonderful handmade cards to give to family and friends throughout the year.

  1. Hi Juana, Your Card is lovely and sweet. I have not made a card with a window like this. I think they look wonderful, especially this one. The watercolour looks awesome, with the Heat Embossing on top of it. All the effects just marry together so well. Thank you for showing your work up close in the photos, it helps me to work out how you design your cards, hehehe.
